From sea to shining sea, our Land of Liberty and Fortress of Freedom has welcomed legal immigrants from around the world for years and years. No nation in the history of the world has welcomed so many immigrants with open arms. Unfortunately, there are many who have not had the patience to wait their turn and have come in as illegal aliens. In my opinion, most, if not all, of these individuals should be returned to their home country unless certain conditions exist in their home country that would permit them to stay here. But I do not believe these individuals should ever have the opportunity to become American citizens.

What has been the beacon that has drawn these millions and millions of individuals to our Land of the Pilgrims' Pride? It is because you can be Muslim, Jewish, Christian, of any other creed, or of no creed. You can be white, black, brown, or a mix. You can be poor, poorly educated, or uneducated. But because of the freedom and opportunity that exist in this Land of the Free because of the brave, if you stay on your toes and work hard, you can achieve success beyond your wildest dreams.

But in order to become successful, you must embrace the American way of life by assimilating into American society. The documents that are a foundation for the freedom and opportunity that draw individuals to our Land of the Free and Home of the Brave are the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution. These documents say all men and women are created equal, with certain inalienable rights granted to them by their creator and protected by these two documents.

Unfortunately, today we have individuals running successfully for public office who oppose regulated capitalism, which has permitted us to become the medical, humanitarian, educational, economic and military powerhouse of this planet. They say that, in reality, this nation believes in white supremacy, inequality, oppression and colonialism. Some say that only Americans of white Christian European heritage are real Americans. Those of us who do not believe that (and I am positive we are the overwhelming majority) must try to understand where these individuals are coming from. We must work very hard to convince them that they are wrong.

This is still the greatest country in the world for freedom, democracy and opportunity for all. If it weren't, why would we still have so many wanting to come here from all quarters of the earth? Unfortunately, today we have individuals running successfully for public office who oppose regulated capitalism, which has permitted us to lead the world in so many different categories.

They believe in free transportation, defunding the police, closing down the prison, free medical care, open borders, no support for the Israeli government, food stores owned and operated by the government, and free college education. A favorite saying about socialism is that it's great until you run out of other people's money.

Those of us who still believe we are the greatest nation in the history of the world know that, yes, we have made some mistakes. We have not been perfect, but no nation has done more for mankind. Since the Founding Fathers created our republic, we have made one improvement after another for all our citizens.

In order to save our republic, I believe it is truly necessary at this time for all who believe in the American way of life to stand up for it, speak out for it, and support it totally and completely. Every American citizen must decide for herself or himself the best way to do this.
