4 statewide measures.
Four November statewide amendments listed by the Fair Ballot Commission; earlier 2026 election questions excluded.
- Amendment 1 — Lieutenant-governor vacancies and legislative administration
Would require an election for the remaining term when a lieutenant-governor vacancy occurs more than 60 days before the next general election for state officers. It would let the legislature set certain officers’ pay by joint resolution and require a legislative officer’s approval for members’ travel spending.
- Amendment 2 — Merging neighboring county school systems
Would let neighboring county boards agree to combine systems after a published state impact study. A written protest by at least 25% of qualified voters in any affected system would trigger a vote requiring approval in each affected county and overall.
- Amendment 3 — School pledge and student-led prayer policies
Would require public K–12 schools to offer the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of each school day and boards to authorize student-initiated, student-led prayer. Students could decline either activity based on their beliefs; prayer participation could not be required.
- Amendment 4 — Weekly national anthem in schools
Would require local boards to arrange a broadcast of the anthem’s first stanza at least weekly, or a school-approved performance using the Library of Congress version.
